Welcome From Pastor Jack
Dear Friends & Family,
Welcome to the Impact Miami Church website! I am truly blessed that your paying us an online visit. If your wondering who I am? Guess what? So, am I, LOL!!!
Well my personality and responsibilities, like probably yours is pretty complex. Personally I get to wear many wonderful hats. I am a husband, father, pastor, urban missionary, web designer and most importantly a Christian. I consider it a great privilege to be loved, cleansed and called by Jesus Christ into the ministry of serving others with my God-given gifts! Hallelujah!
Ethnically being half Armenian and Liberian immigrant has shaped me culturally and made me sensitive as a pastor to the diverse spiritual and social issues that effect our communities and churches, especially amongst immigrants and marginalized people in the city. That is why I am so excited to work with a great team of leaders in Urban Miami as a facilitating lead pastor. We have a great vision, but realize we can't do anything by ourselves for Christ Kingdom!
Someone defined the word facilitator as, "One who contributes structure and process to interactions so groups are able to function effectively and make high-quality decisions. A helper and enabler whose goal is to support others as they achieve exceptional performance".
Another definition is, "An individual who enables groups and organizations to work more effectively; to collaborate and achieve synergy."
When the Holy Spirit is moving in a community and church that is all a lead pastor is "A FACILITATOR". My Biblical philosophy of ministry is that we as lead pastors cannot cast a vision and force the church into a mold. We cannot determine and control all her ministries and methodologies in a mechanical, technocratic way. Even though a church needs organization it grows automatically by it's organic DNA and energy (Holy Spirit)!
Ministry happens in God's garden and He makes the church grow organically and creatively in the direction He wants it to grow (1 Corinthians 12:11). He adds to the church and takes away(Acts 2:47; Acts 5). He prunes (John 15:1-2). So, in reality all we can do as pastors is equip and empower gifted men and women for ministry, so they can live out God's unique purpose as they help the Body of Christ grow in love as each part does it's work (Ephesians 4:11-13).
Essentially the dreams of the sheep should be the dreams of their shepherd, because they are to care and coach them (Jeremiah 3:15) to impact others with their unique gifts, personality and calling! When we as pastors function like "spiritual coaches" and help people tap into "Holy Spirit's Power" , the church grows healthy and leaders are developed who can touch every domain of society (holistic impact)!
That is our job and that is the heart of Christ for us. Read the following scriptures and you will see how serious God is about a pastor's spiritual potential and job description:
FAITH & PRAYER-John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
PASTORAL CARE & TEACHING -John 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." 16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." 17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.
EQUIPPING CHRISTIANS-Ephesians 4:11 It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
EVANGELISM & CHURCH PLANTING - Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
