Dear Friends & Family of Oasis Miami,

The Hakimian Family and Oasis Miami Leadership would like to say to your family and you on this beautiful Thanksgiving Thursday, "Happy Thanksgiving" and "Thank You" for your presence, prayers and continued financial support of this baby church and it's many ministries!!!

In fact I want to share with you 8 ways your monies are advancing God's Kingdom to Miami and the Worldthrough Oasis Miami Church:

Firstly, 10% of all tithes and offerings you give are allocated towards missions every month through theSouthern Baptist Cooperative Program. This partnership we have with thousands of Baptist churches allows church planters, missionaries and workers throughout the world move forward in making disciples of Jesus Christ and providing humanitarian relief, like the earthquake crisis in Haiti.

Secondly, we get the privilege of serving people free food and drinks through the Oasis Cafe, Oasis Food Pantry and Panera Bread Distribution. In fact just last Monday we had a gentlemen come by and pick up bread and drinks for his family. Last night Wednesday, November 23rd we were able to touch many lives of people in our community through our Free Thanksgiving Meal for the community. Your giving made this possible. Thank you!

Thirdly, this week we started giving shelter to a young man who has been attending our church, who came to me and shared that he was homeless. Your contributions that enabled us to buy brand new beds from IKEA to create dorm rooms that provide housing for people in need like him. That could be me and you one day! In the last 12 months we have housed over 12 people (missionaries, battered moms with kids, homeless individuals, etc). Their stay on the campus has ranged from 2 weeks to 9 months. Oasis Miami Church is providing tangible ministry, touching real lives with real hurts. You are making this possible!

Fourthly, we have been able to provide an after school drop in center for hundreds of youth. Everyday when we open up the cafe we have 15-20 youth sitting outside waiting to come into the cafe and talk to us about their lives, play board games or pool, surf their facebook accounts, do their homework, or apply for jobs online. They do this with the brand new computers we bought from Comp USA with the monies you gave.WATCH THE VIDEO!

Fifthly, we have been able to provide a place for Urban Young Adults to hangout and express their artistic talents. Miami has clusters of unchurched young adults who don't listen to rock music and identify with suburban lifestyles. They are into Spoken Word, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Urban, Latin & Caribbean Dancing. They are seeking a spirituality and leadership they can relate to. Since the birth of our church we have seen how so many youth and young adults have been blessed by our willingness to let them express themselves freely. Sixthly, we have been able to engage the older unchurched Jazz culture of Miami. I think this video of our monthly Jazz Cafe speaks for itself. WATCH JAZZ VIDEO

Seventhly, we have been able to mobilize groups and go out and feed the homeless in the downtown area. Your giving made this possible. SEE VIDEO

Lastly, we are ministering weekly to peoples spiritual needs with our Wednesday Night Learning Group, Weekly Sunday Worship Services, Pastoral Counseling and much more. We have seen new attenders every Sunday due to their ability to find us on Google Ads. We could not do any of this without your financial giving. AGAIN we cant say it enough "Thank You"!

A professor in seminary once challenged us as students, "If your church ceased to exist would anyone in your community apart from your church members care, would they mourn?" I can honestly say in our casea big fat "YES"!

Most of our outreach ministry from Sunday to Saturday is to community members who are not members of our church. We don't exist only for Sunday Worship Services, but authentic urban holistic ministry. Guess what? By the Spirit of Christ we are compelled to do more in the months and years to come. But, we can only do it with your continuous faithful giving. This community needs inside and outside help from people like you!

So, again I want to say to GOD and you on this Thanksgiving Day "Thank You"! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Real people, real lives are being positively effected by your giving and prayers.

These are just 8 ways that your financial contributions are making a difference in our struggling but changing city, called North Miami.

Will you continue to stand with us prayerfully and financially? We need your obedience to the Lord and acts of compassion. Compassion is to feel what others are going through and the condition of life they are in.

We cannot stop making disciples of Jesus Christ! We cannot let the various artistic expressions through a church that is deeply dedicated to multi-cultural leaders, outreach, and congregation STOP!

We keep hearing Jesus say, "My Sheep Are Hurting & Lost, Go & Reach Them In Miami!" (Matthew 9:36-39)
